Statement
Of Faith
Living Hope is a confessional congregation. This means that we unite under a common faith regarding vital Scriptural teachings. These teachings are the foundation of our unity as believers in Christ.
There is one true living God, as represented in three persons; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. God created everything.
Exodus 3:6 & 14-1; Genesis 1:12; John 1:3
Jesus is the Christ (Messiah), the Son of God, and the salvation of the world; by His death He paid the price for the sins of all people and by His physical resurrection He provided the hope of eternal and abundant life. Jesus is the Savior, sent by God and his death was necessary for our forgiveness. Jesus is the Word that became flesh. Jesus was born of a virgin. Jesus was tempted like we are, but lived without sin. Jesus commanded his disciples to share the Gospel.
Hebrews 9:22. John 1:1-14, 3:16, 11:25-26, 19:30, 20:13-14. Luke 1:34-37, 23:46, 24:6-7. 1John 4:14. Matthew 27:50, 28:6-7. Mark 15:37
God sent His Holy Spirit, who resides in the hearts of God’s people. God sent the Holy Spirit to be a help and comfort to believers. The Holy Spirit helps the believer.
Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:5-8; John 14:16-17; 2Corinthians 1:22; Romans 8:26-27
All of the Bible is the inspired Word of God, without error. The Bible is God’s Word to us. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living.
2 Peter 1:20-21; 2 Timothy 1:13, 16-17
ll people have sinned and require forgiveness of their sin, which comes through Jesus Chris alone, in order to be made right and have a relationship with God, and to inherit the promise of His Holy Spirit and eternity.
Romans 2:23, 6:23; John 14:6
Salvation is received by faith through the grace of God, and not by the works of man. We can not do anything on our own to be made right with God. Salvation only comes through Jesus Christ, and His death on the cross – the payment for our sins.
Romans 4:2-5, 10:9-10 & Ephesians 2:8-9
God has set apart His believers as a royal priesthood, for whom no other intercessor is needed besides Jesus.
1Peter 2:5 & 9; Hebrews 10:19-22
Jesus will return to earth again one day to establish His kingdom!
Revelation 19, 20, & 21
