Jesus is our “Living Hope”. As we gather together at Living Hope Fellowship, we invite others to join us in embracing the hope we have in Jesus!
The word HOPE in Greek is a word that means expectation. Our HOPE is not one that we are wishing will take place in our lives, but one that we are expecting to take place in our lives. We have come to know that our HOPE, is LIVING:
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead”. (1 Peter 1:3)
More than anything else, the people of Living Hope Fellowship are a family. As we seek to know our God in a deeper way, he continues to deepen the relationships we have with each other. We are committed to “doing life” with each other, walking along side one another through both times of struggle and pain, and times of joy and celebration. It is our desire that through the community, teaching, and encouragement you experience at Living Hope you will then go forth and experience a real living hope in your daily lives!
One of the greatest characteristics of the environment of Living Hope is freedom. We believe that Christ has delivered us from the bondage of sin and the control of Satan. As a result of being set free from the sin that would bind us, we have come to know the liberating power of Jesus Christ in our lives! As the Holy Spirit lives in us we are set free to follow God with all of our being!
“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” (Galatians 5:1)
Since we operate like a family, our services are designed to be a place where the whole family feels welcome! We strive to incorporate teaching and musical worship that is both true and relevant to all generations. We also have ministries here at LHF specifically designed to engage children, youth (LHFy), adults, and senior adults, in experiencing the truth of God in a deeper way. Living Hope Fellowship began as a group of believers who wanted to experience church in a real way! We wanted to get rid of the aspects of the church that cause disunity; such as church politics and church as a business organization, and wanted to embrace ways we can operate more like a family; such as appointing an Elder Team, and focusing on building relationships not programs.
When LHF first began, we were renting a space at an old hotel (The Kentucky Inn) in Lexington, Kentucky. In 2004 we moved to a small church building off of Regency Road which allowed us more space for our congregation, and a better opportunity to reach a surrounding community. However, we soon developed a need for additional space and land to give us room to grow as a church. So, in August of 2005, we moved to the location we are in now on Grace Drive. In 2010 we expanded our building by adding a larger entryway, additional classrooms and a space for our youth to gather. We hope our building will allow a space for families to experience church in a real way, and a place to build strong relationships with other believers.
It is our dream that the Holy Spirit will work among the people of Living Hope in such a way as to bring freedom, joy and peace in Him. We are HOPING for a lot of things! We have hope that Jesus will mold us into a group of people who are known by our love for Him and for one another. We have HOPE that our fellowship will remain flexible and committed to the things that will make us more like Jesus. We have HOPE that those who visit Living Hope Fellowship will find a refreshing family atmosphere. We have HOPE that the relationships we develop will provide tremendous support for one another through the ups and downs of life.
